Much Love

So this morning I am tuning into Mike & Mike on my way to work and after the usual dose of NFL talk, I was shocked to hear the subject actually move to college football.  I mean why bring up college football on the day before the most important weekend in the sport. Anyways, enough bitterness, but what transpired next shocked and delighted me.  Greenberg started it out by apologizing to Red Sox/Yankees fans then proceeded to proclaim that any of the college rivalries this weekend are more meaningful.  Then Golic jumped on board and agreed saying even if each team was 0-9 this one game is just as important and STILL as important as a Red Sox/Yankess Oct series to make the playoffs..damn.  This is something we all know in Buckeye country, but great to hear an understanding on a national level.  And while they didn't actually say that OSU vs scUM itself was the best rivaly in sports, we all know what's up.

and in the most heartwarming news of the day..my buddy Aaron is volunteering this week for his job by teaching 2nd graders.  And let's just say his lesson plan was slightly diverted today..

aaron:
i've been volunteering all week
aaron:
teaching 2nd graders
aaron:
so today, i wore my buckeyes football coaches polo
aaron:
so i explained the significance of the game
aaron:
and then i taught them OH-IO
aaron:
and we did it three times real loud
aaron:
how awesome is that

And finally my buddy Paul threw over this stat of the day:

National Title Since 1950:

scUM: .5
OSU:   5

Speaking of bitter, why do we have to listen to this on Columbus radio during Ohio State Michigan week?  At least its on target for once, after you wade through the pointless laughing and 50% non-sports content.  GO BUCKS!

Bo Schembechler is 5-4-1 against Woody Hayes.
Lloyd Carr is 6-4 overall against the Buckeyes.

I look forward to Carr getting victory #2 vs Jim "Cash Money Youngstown" Tressel.

I think this Detroit News column intro sums it up.  Enjoy it regular LeBlog readers...

ANN ARBOR -- Uh-oh, here they come again, loaded for beer, spittin' passion. According to my sources in law enforcement, Buckeyes began streaming across the border at midweek, clogging rest areas and hourly rate motels. At this very moment, local convenience stores are calling for emergency supplies of Slim Jims and pickled eggs.

It's good that you enjoy looking forward to it.  You'll probably be looking forward to it for a few years.  Michigan is afraid that their fans will forget to wear blue.  They have a big media push.  For chrissakes people, please remember.  I'll pitch in here and remind you -- don't forget to where your blue!
