OK then

Well, it seems like Sarunas is gone as he signed a three-year, $12 million deal with the Pacers.  As the article states, he 'apparently' decided to take less money and fewer minutes to have a shot at an NBA title.  Whatever..

So now..Jaric?  According to a league source, which once again means nothing, the rumored Jaric sign-and-trade with the Cavs is fictional.  The deal was supposed to go down like this:  Clippers sign Jaric and send him to the Cavaliers, along with power forward Chris Wilcox, in exchange for Gooden.

Since we don't have the necessary salary-cap space to sign Jaric, who was lookin to get $5 million a year, the only way to acquire Jaric would be a sign-and-trade.

According to Jaric's agent, "There are five or six teams still interested in Marko," and "he's still very interested in the Cavs."

Jaric still plans to visit the Cavs tomorrow.  If we can't get Jaric, then we might still be able to obtain Damon Stoudimire or Damon Jones.

I think the Pacers are not NBA title contenders.   Who is there go to guy in the clutch?  I don't think it is Jermaine O'Neal.  Name me all the post up, back to the basket players who have been the clutch man when a team needs a bucket.  I can't think of any (maybe Hakeem, but that is stretching it).  Certainly not recently- the Lakers depended on Kobe, the Spurs on Manu and Horry, the Pistons on Chauncey, Rasheed from the perimeter, and Rip Hamilton, and the Bulls on a certain Jordan guy.  Before that was Isiah, Magic, and Bird.  So who does that leave on the Pacers?  Tinsely- good, but he is a PG.  Probably not going to be able to create his own shot as teams will force him to dish.  Stephen Jackson?  Good player, but something strikes me about him as "nice player, but not clutch."  Artest? Puh-lease.  For so long they depended on Reggie, so who's gonna be the man now?

These type of players are needed in the playoffs.  The Cavs have one in LBJ.  You don't need to be as good as the King, but a Dwayne Wade, an Allen Iverson, a Paul Pierce, or a Chauncey/Rip/Rasheed is needed to be the man down the stretch.

Sarunas- the Pacers are a nice team.  You will win lots of games.  But unless you become the man (I doubt this, even with all your fancy Euroleague experience), they aren't going to win the title.
