Not done yet..

Oh how the times change...

As the article states,
the Cavs used to be the franchise that stood back and watched other teams make moves, and then took their pick of the leftovers, the Ira Newble's and Lucious Harris' of the world.

We all saw how that worked out...

But now, things are different.

Oh yes, the times they are a changing...Even though we are spendin a lot o cash, this is what you have to do (and this is definetely something Cleveland sports is not used to).  And the beauty is that there are still plenty of rumors out there that the Cavs aren't finished.  Will we pick up Sarunas?  Or is Jaric the main man?  Then possibly dishin Gooden?  This is definetely an exciting time for a Cavs fan.

Oh check this out..
it's also being rumored that Ferry is reaching out to an old Cavalier (and Akron resident) in Larry Nance to be the team's liaison between management and players.

To sum it up in the words of Donyell Marshalls agent, Andy Miller:

"We look at this as an opportunity to join a team that could win an NBA championship real soon," Miller said.

According to the LBJ- I mean the ABJ- the Cavs will have at least $3.5 million in cap room left, maybe more once the cap number comes out.  That should be plenty to sign Sarunas.  But we better get moving on that.  If we can shop Drew and Sasha too, that would be quite nice.

Can't wait for the league to get going.  Mr. LeBlog, you will be welcome anytime at my new abode to watch Nationally televised Cavs games on HD.

This just in: Sarunas is expected to reach a deal soon with the Cavs.  http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/11218522547150.xml&coll=2

Even if (yes, if) these Cavs sneak into the playoffs next year, they're still nowhere close to being a contender.  I wouldn't have them making it past the 2nd round.

Where is LBJ's Pippen?  He has no sidekick to ease the pressure.  There is no shooter to knock down 3's and keep the D honest.

I don't see this team going very far...

Uh, Mr. Mbk428, you are dead wrong about the Cavs.  First, LBJ will have a sidekick- his name is Larry Hughes.  The guy is like a "mini-LeBron" but plays better D right now.  Not a great shooter, but he can get his points, hit the glass, and drop dimes.  And I suspect his shooting will get better after getting free looks with LeBron.

Second, we will have Donyell Marshall to knock the three-ball down.  This guy shot 42% from the 3-land last year, 40% the year before, and 35% over the course of his career (depsite being 6'9").  Oh, and he average around 7 boards a game.  Not bad indeed.

Third, we will sign Saurnas.  That guy can shoot.  Just ask Team USA and Chad Ford.  Not a strong defender, but a fiery player with great intangibles and a true leader.

Fourth, Z will stretch the D from the Center spot even more next year.  With all these other shooters, a 15 foot Z jumper becomes more dangerous.

Fifth, don't sleep on Luke Jackson.  Yeah, I know what you are thinking: this guy sucks.  But he can shoot the open jumper.  That's all we need off the bench from him.

Finally, we have ball-handlers galore.  LBJ, Hughes, Sarunas, and even Z for a big man can move the ball.  That means everyone will get open looks with an unselfish team.
