LeAkron: Sup Now

Oh My Goodness..  So ESPN (and shockingly SI) both just released articles on What If LeBron played college ball.  While SI has the King going to OSU (pic below), ESPN has the Chosen One staying at home at Akron U - either way would have been fine by me.   So check the link above and you will see a certain city named LeAkron winning it all.  Yeah, that's right.   How you like me now..

words can't describe such a feeling...

Love this:   Akron lineup: LeBron James (So.) and four other guys

(but yet a nice Romeo Travis reference at the end)...

As Thirst says, "Its so beautiful. Show em my motto."  Even in an alternate universe, Akron, Ohio State, and Ohio are the best.

could it have had any effect on the outcomes for Jim O'Brien and Maurice Clarett?

Is LeBron the gretest player to never play in college?  Is pizza the greatest food LeBron has ever eaten?  Is anyone still interested in hyping up the King?

Ask any pro who the best player in the NBA is today, and they will see Kobe.  In case you missed it, Sir Charles and Amare have already said as much on TV.

Who is the guy ripping on Bron by saying Kobe is better?  Last I checked, Kobe has Lamar Odom but still can't get the eigth seed out west.  Kobe is also a cancer in the locker room, while Bron is a team playa.  Don't hate Bron just because everyone knows we are in the midst of greatness.

Maybe a prelude to greatness. If this were the midst of greatness, Ron Harper might have been considered the greatest player ever (and we all know that at his best, he was still a poor man's Jordan).

Uh, I don't know how you compare Ron Harper to LeBron James.  For starters, Harper never scored as much as Bron.  Harper never averaged as many assists.  Harper never averaged as many steals.  Harper never averaged as many rebounds.  And I think that anyone who watches LeBron play realizes the total impact he has on the game, which Harper never had (I being a lifelong Cavs fan, grew up watching Harp play until he got traded).

So you may want to deflate LeBron's true greatness, but we call people like you hatas.  The bandwagon is leaving without you.

I remember seeing something where a poster for an old basketball game said "George Mikan vs Knicks."

Lebron did the right thing. Any kid who can get drafted #1 is a fool to go to college. Lebron got the kind of contract where, even if he loses a leg, he can go to college wherever he'd like....and not have to juggle a full class load with the brutal practice/playing/touring schedule of the unpaid entertainer.

Had he gone to college for four years, his draft position could not have improved, he'd risk an injury that could leave him actually trying to find work with those Leisure Studies degrees that athletes pursue, and when the career ended, he'd be about $10 million lighter in the trust fund.

Enjoy the weekend....
