Wishful Thinking

Big win yesterday, but we are only half the way there.  Boston needs to take care of Jersey tomorrow and hopefully Pierce and Walker will be allowed to provide some competition.

On that note, I am leaving for the land of Varejao around 7pm which means I will have no idea if my Cavs win and Jersey loses thus a trip to the playoffs.  I can only assume we win and then destroy Miami…

the hair was even sweet back in the day..

Since I won't be updating the LeBlog for a little while, I would like to leave you all with something fun to ponder..

Who will be the Cavs starting 5 next year?

PG: ________

SG: ________

SF: ________

PF: ________

C:  ________

So I am off armed with only a Varejao jersey in hopes that maybe one person knows who the Cavs are..

I think the Cavs will win the title if they can field this lineup next year:

PG: LeBron James
SG: LeBron James
SF: LeBron James
PF: LeBron James
C: Thirst

Show 'em my motto.

PG: There aren't many out there on the Free Agent ("FA") market.  The Cavs should try and target a young guy who is a distributor, but can make open shots.  I would like to see Earl Watson fill this role, and Snow be the bench guy.

SG: If it isn't Redd,  I want Joe Johnson.  He is young.  He can defend (taking pressure off Bron).  He can shoot.  And he can go to the hole.  All for a cheaper price then Jesus Shuttlesworth.

SF: LBJ.

PF: Not Drew Gooden.  He has offensive upside, but his points really come from offensive boards and LBJ penetration (as detailed so well on this Blog).  I would love to see Anderson bulk up and get the starting minutes, while Tractor Trailor becomes the bench guy.

C: I want Z for the right price.  But if he can't be had, I would rather get a young athletic center that can block shots, rebound, and - most importantly - help stop the pick and role.  My choice: Samuel Dalembert.

There ya go.  A whole new roster.  In my world, things look like this:

As for the Bench, we would have Newble (can we get rid of him??), Sasha, Snow, Tractor, and another big man that we can sign cheaply.

I think the Cavs need radical change.A good mix of vets and younger players who play defense.

PG:6'8LBJ

SG:6'7Joe Johnson-versitle,plays 3 positions,good defense,3pt shooter,restricted F/A but Suns maynot want to sign him for a 7yr65million contract if they do;
Bonzi Wells 5yr/ 25million

SF:6'9Donyell Marshal 3yr/17million or 5/20 Defense,inside/outside offense,3pt

PF:7'1Tyson Chandler restrictedF/A 7yr/65  young,athletic,Defense/rebounding,perfect compliment for Z

C:7'3Z 5yr/55  or 7/70....why 7yr deal?avg.11million over 1st 5...by 2012,a 36-37yo for 7-8 million would be rather cheap

reserves:6'10Drew Gooden,6'5Raja Bell(5yr/15),6'10V,6'3Snow,6'8Luke Jackson
trade Newble,Welsch,Pavlo,Diop,Trailor and Harris for picks and/or use in sign and trades for the above restrictedF/As.
Team would be much better balanced, much better defensively, deeper, more athletic and versitle.Trading for picks would leave the added room for the additional salaries plus give added flexablity for the future Paxson has mortgaged away.....PS....hire Nate McMillian
