Top 428 MVP Candidates

Bill Simmons..you are the man..

check out this stellar article from the former bitter Boston fan on top 425 NBA MVP candidates:

Favorite Blurbs:

"Like I told the guys earlier, once he turns 21 and is able to drink, it's over."
– Jalen after LeBron scored 56 on the Raptors

215. Carlos Boozer
That's what you get for screwing over a generous blind guy.

417. Darko Milicic
A quick recap of the 2003 Draft ...

No. 1. – LeBron James
No. 2. – Darko Milicic
No. 3. – Carmelo Anthony
No. 4. – Chris Bosh
No. 5. – Dwyane Wade

(That's like reaching into a brown paper bag filled with two checks for $100 million, two checks for $10 million, and a check for $10 ... and pulling out the check for 10 dollars. Ouch.)

My only complaint here is that LeBron is #4 and has to share this ranking with Dwyane Wade.  C'mon..Wade has Shaq..we have no one else..  Simmons also goes on to verbally destroy our team, but at least he knows of our woes at the GM position.

LeBron for MVP and #1 on Simmons' list...

look...the pistons won the championship after they drafted darko.  granted, a lot of other things happened after they drafted him, but you can't help but wonder if darko being drafted is in some way directly related to the pistons winning the championship.   sure darko might have been the $10 check, or more like the $6.25 check. but wouldn't you rather get that check and then have everyone call you world champeens? so suck it all you naysayers :~)

Come on Detriot... Darko is just another soft player from Euro.  He will never see the floor in Detroit.  Darko had nothing to do with Detroit winning the title and being 2nd in the East.  It had everything to do with Rasheed.  Darko sucks and the entire world knows it.

As for Lebron being tied for #4... I agree with Mr. Burgoon and Simmons.  The Cavs are terrible.  Besides LBJ and Z the Cavs are soft and do not have the players to succeed... even if they make playoffs.  What Cleveland does have is the most explosive, electrifying player in the league.  A guy who has no problem putting his team on his back and carrying them into the playoffs... in his 2nd year.  He is fourth in the league in scoring and at th top in assists and steals.  Z is having a career year and will resign with Cleveland because he knows Lebron will only get better.  Check out the Kings FG%... almost 50%!  Nobody expected him to be draining 3s or hiting perimeter shots like he is.  His outside game is so far ahead of any 2nd year player ever... even MJ.  LBJ and the Cavs may not go far in this years playoffs, but there is no other player in the Association who single-handedly means more to his teams success than "the King!"
